GOST 8731-2018 is the Russian national standard that defines the technical requirements, mechanical properties, and testing methods for hot-finished seamless steel pipes. Unlike GOST 8732, which focuses mainly on dimensions and delivery form, GOST 8731-2018 governs material quality, strength, ductility, impact performance, and inspection procedures.
When STEEL 20 seamless pipes are supplied according to GOST 8732-78 / GOST 8732-2018 + GOST 8731-2018, dimensional compliance and mechanical performance are both fully guaranteed.
ГОСТ 8731-2018 — это государственный стандарт Российской Федерации, устанавливающий технические требования, механические свойства и методы испытаний для горячедеформированных бесшовных стальных труб. В отличие от ГОСТ 8732, который в основном регламентирует размеры и форму поставки, ГОСТ 8731-2018 определяет качество металла, прочность, пластичность, ударную вязкость и процедуры контроля.

STEEL 20 is the most commonly specified carbon steel grade under GOST 8731-2018. It is a low-carbon structural steel designed for pressure pipelines, thermal systems, mechanical applications, and general industrial service where stable performance and good weldability are required.

STEEL 20 pipes tested under GOST 8731-2018 are typically produced as hot-finished seamless pipes, using billet heating, piercing, elongation rolling, and sizing. Heat treatment such as normalization may be applied to stabilize mechanical properties and ensure uniform grain structure.
Трубы из стали 20, поставляемые с испытаниями по ГОСТ 8731-2018, как правило, изготавливаются методом горячей деформации с последующей прошивкой, прокаткой и калибровкой. При необходимости применяется нормализация для стабилизации механических свойств и структуры металла.
